Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
συντρίψει τὸν Σατανᾶν ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας ὑμῶν
/will_be/_crushing ¬the Satan under the feet ˱of˲_you_all
Here Paul speaks of the Roman believers having victory over Satan as if they would crush him under their feet. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “will cause you to have complete victory over Satan”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns
ἐν τάχει. ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν, Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, μεθ’ ὑμῶν
in quickness the grace ˱of˲_the Lord ˱of˲_us Jesus (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὁ δὲ Θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης συντρίψει τὸν Σατανᾶν ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας ὑμῶν ἐν τάχει ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ μεθʼ ὑμῶν)
If your language does not use abstract nouns for the ideas of haste and grace, you could express the same ideas in another way. Alternate translation: “hastily. May the Lord Jesus Christ act graciously toward you”
ἐν τάχει
in quickness
The phrase translated as with haste can also refer to something happening after a short time period. Alternate translation: “in a short time” or “soon”
Note 4 topic: translate-blessing
ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν, Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, μεθ’ ὑμῶν
the grace ˱of˲_the Lord ˱of˲_us Jesus (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὁ δὲ Θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης συντρίψει τὸν Σατανᾶν ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας ὑμῶν ἐν τάχει ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ μεθʼ ὑμῶν)
As was customary in his culture, Paul closes his letter with a blessing for the Roman believers. Use a form that people would recognize as a blessing in your language. Alternate translation: “May you experience kindness from our Lord Jesus Christ” or “I pray that you will have grace from our Lord Jesus Christ”
16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet: Paul alludes to the curse that God pronounced upon the serpent after he had deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3:15). Christ, the offspring of Eve, will soon crush Satan under the feet of the church (cp. Matt 16:18-19).
OET (OET-LV) And the god of_ the _peace will_be_crushing the Satan/(Sāţān) under the feet of_you_all in quickness.
The grace of_the master of_us, Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) with you_all be.
OET (OET-RV) then the God of peace will be quickly crushing Satan under your feet.
¶ May the grace from our master Yeshua be with all of you.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
