DOM ʼEdōmites

The Septuagint (an ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible) and the parallel passage in [1 Chronicles 18:12](../../1ch/18/12.md) read “Edom.” That may have been the original reading, particularly since the the Valley of Salt (the Arabah south of the Dead Sea) was close to Edom, not to Aram. If a translation of the Bible exists in your region, you may wish to use the reading that it uses. If a translation of the Bible does not exist in your region, you may wish to use the reading of the ULT.
