Elijah is probably using the plural term Baals because the Israelites were worshiping multiple manifestations or representations of Baal. Various places had their own shrines or temples in which they worshiped local representations, such as Baal of Tyre, Baal of Peor, etc. Since the name is singular in the rest of the book, if it would be helpful to your readers, you could use the singular here as well. Alternate translation: [Baal]
