If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [You should not be requesting Abishag the Shunammitess for Adonijah!]

In this figure of speech, Solomon actually means to communicate the opposite of the literal meaning of what he says. He does not really want his mother to request the kingdom for Adonijah. Instead, he is expressing his anger at what she has already requested, suggesting that she might as well ask for the kingdom itself. If a speaker of your language would not do that, you could translate the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [By asking this, you are effectively asking me to let him become the king]
