OET (OET-LV) And_they_have_been_healed the_waters until the_day the_this according_to_the_message_of ʼElīshāˊ which he_spoke.
OET (OET-RV) So now those water supplies have been healthy and beneficial until this day, just as Elisha had said.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וַיֵּרָפ֣וּ הַמַּ֔יִם
(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_have_been_healed the=waters until the=day the=this according,to_the_word_of ʼElīshāˊ which/who spoke )
The expression were healed is a passive verbal form. If it would be unnatural to use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [And Yahweh healed the waters]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה
until the=day (Some words not found in UHB: and,they_have_been_healed the=waters until the=day the=this according,to_the_word_of ʼElīshāˊ which/who spoke )
The author is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [and that has been the case to this day]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה
until the=day (Some words not found in UHB: and,they_have_been_healed the=waters until the=day the=this according,to_the_word_of ʼElīshāˊ which/who spoke )
The author is using the phrase to this day to refer to the time at which he is writing. Translators should bear in mind that the phrase refers to a time that is now in the past. They should avoid giving the impression that it means the present day of the translation’s readers. Alternate translation: [at the time when this is being written] or [at the time of this writing]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
כִּדְבַ֥ר אֱלִישָׁ֖ע אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר
(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_have_been_healed the=waters until the=day the=this according,to_the_word_of ʼElīshāˊ which/who spoke )
See how you translated the similar expression in [1:7](../01/07.md). Alternate translation: [according to what Elisha said when he spoke]
OET (OET-LV) And_they_have_been_healed the_waters until the_day the_this according_to_the_message_of ʼElīshāˊ which he_spoke.
OET (OET-RV) So now those water supplies have been healthy and beneficial until this day, just as Elisha had said.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
