OET (OET-LV)And he_asked the father of_him:
How_much time it_is while this has_become with_him?
And he said:
From from_childhood.

OET (OET-RV) Yeshua asked his father, “How long has this been happening?
¶ “Since he was small,” he replied,

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / quotations

ἐπηρώτησεν τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ, πόσος χρόνος ἐστὶν ὡς τοῦτο γέγονεν αὐτῷ? ὁ δὲ εἶπεν, ἐκ παιδιόθεν

˱he˲_asked the father ˱of˲_him how_much time ˱it˲_is while this /has/_become ˱with˲_him he and said from from_childhood

It may be more natural in your language to have indirect quotations here. Alternate translation: “he asked his father how much time it was while this had been happening to him. And he said that it was from childhood.”

πόσος χρόνος ἐστὶν ὡς τοῦτο γέγονεν αὐτῷ

how_much time ˱it˲_is while this /has/_become ˱with˲_him

Alternate translation: “For how much time has this been happening to him” or “This has been happening to him for how long of a time”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

ἐκ παιδιόθεν

from from_childhood

The father is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You could supply these words from earlier in the sentence if it would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: “This has been happening to him from childhood”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

ἐκ παιδιόθεν

from from_childhood

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of childhood, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “Since he was very young”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

9:14-29 This is the fourth and last exorcism in Mark (1:21-28; 5:1-20; 7:24-30). The disciples were unable to perform the exorcism, so Jesus performed it, emphasizing the necessity of faith (cp. 2:5; 5:34; 10:52). This is another example of Jesus’ great healing ability and of the disciples’ failure (8:32-33; 9:5-7).
