Merab

The traditional Hebrew text reads “Michal.” The ULT follows that reading. Some other Hebrew manuscripts and some manuscripts of the Septuagint (an ancient Greek translation) read “Merab.” That was probably the original reading, since [1 Samuel 18:19](../18/19.md) describes how it was Merab who married Adriel of Meholah, while the author says in [6:23](../06/23.md) that Michal had no children. If a translation of the Bible exists in your region, you may wish to use the reading that it uses. If a translation of the Bible does not exist in your region, you may wish to use the reading of the ULT.
