OET (OET-LV)And they_found the stone having_been_rolled_away from the tomb.

OET (OET-RV)There they discovered that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance

uW Translation Notes:

εὗρον & τὸν λίθον ἀποκεκυλισμένον

˱they˲_found & (Some words not found in SR-GNT: εὗρον Δέ τόν λίθον ἀποκεκυλισμένον ἀπό τοῦ μνημείου)

Alternate translation: [they saw that the stone had been rolled away]

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

τὸν λίθον ἀποκεκυλισμένον

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: εὗρον Δέ τόν λίθον ἀποκεκυλισμένον ἀπό τοῦ μνημείου)

If it would be helpful in your language, you could express this with an active form. Alternate translation: [that someone had rolled away the stone]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

τὸν λίθον

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: εὗρον Δέ τόν λίθον ἀποκεκυλισμένον ἀπό τοῦ μνημείου)

Luke assumes that his readers will know that this was a large, cut, round stone that was big enough to completely block the entrance to the tomb. It had been put in place to seal off the entrance, and it would have required several people to move it. Alternate translation: [the large stone that had been put in place at the entrance to the tomb]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

24:2 The stone was probably a large round stone that was rolled down a track to cover the tomb’s entrance.
