OET (OET-LV)And I_have_been_persuaded, brothers of_me, also myself I concerning you_all, that also yourselves full are of_goodness, having_been_filled with_all knowledge, being_able also one_another to_be_admonishing.

OET (OET-RV)My brothers and sisters, I’ve also been persuaded about you myself, that having been filled with knowledge, you’re also full of goodness and able to rebuke each other.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

πέπεισμαι & καὶ αὐτὸς ἐγὼ

˱I˲_˓have_been˒_persuaded & (Some words not found in SR-GNT: πέπεισμαι Δέ ἀδελφοί μού καί αὐτός ἐγώ περί ὑμῶν ὅτι καί αὐτοί μεστοί ἐστέ ἀγαθωσύνης πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως δυνάμενοι καί ἀλλήλους νουθετεῖν)

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [God has also persuaded me myself]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / rpronouns

αὐτὸς ἐγὼ & αὐτοὶ & ἐστε

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: πέπεισμαι Δέ ἀδελφοί μού καί αὐτός ἐγώ περί ὑμῶν ὅτι καί αὐτοί μεστοί ἐστέ ἀγαθωσύνης πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως δυνάμενοι καί ἀλλήλους νουθετεῖν)

Paul uses the words myself and yourselves to emphasize how certain he is that his readers are good and knowledgeable Christians. Use a way that is natural in your language to indicate this emphasis. Alternate translation: [I indeed … you are indeed]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations

ἀδελφοί

brothers

See how you translated this word in [1:13](../01/13.md).

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

αὐτοὶ μεστοί ἐστε ἀγαθωσύνης

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: πέπεισμαι Δέ ἀδελφοί μού καί αὐτός ἐγώ περί ὑμῶν ὅτι καί αὐτοί μεστοί ἐστέ ἀγαθωσύνης πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως δυνάμενοι καί ἀλλήλους νουθετεῖν)

Paul refers to people experiencing goodness as if it were something that could make someone full. If it might be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [you yourselves fully experience goodness]

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

ἀγαθωσύνης & γνώσεως

˱of˲_goodness & knowledge

If your language does not use abstract nouns for the ideas of goodness and knowledge, you could express the same ideas in another way. Alternate translation: [of what is good … that is knowable]

Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως

˓having_been˒_filled ˱with˲_all knowledge

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [God having filled you with all knowledge]

Note 7 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως

˓having_been˒_filled ˱with˲_all knowledge

Here Paul refers to people having knowledge as if it were something that someone could befilled with. If it might be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [having all knowledge]

Note 8 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

πάσης γνώσεως

˱with˲_all knowledge

Here, all is an exaggeration that Paul uses to emphasize how much knowledge these people have. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression from your language that shows emphasis. Alternate translation: [abundant knowledge]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

15:14–16:27 This final section contains elements common at the end of New Testament letters: a discussion of travel plans (15:14-29), requests for prayer (15:30-33), references to ministry associates (16:1-2, 21-23), greetings (16:3-16), and a doxology (16:25-27). Only the warning about false teachers (16:17-19) is a non-standard feature in this conclusion.

15:14 You know these things so well: Paul praises the Roman Christians, as he had in the opening of the letter (see 1:8-12), demonstrating a gracious manner toward a church he had neither founded nor visited.
