19:35 Note: KJB: 2Sam.19.34
OET (OET-RV) Your servant is eighty years old. My mind isn’t the same as it was, and I can’t really taste what I eat or drink. I can barely hear the sounds of the men and women singing. So why would your servant become an extra burden to my master the king?”

בֶּן־שְׁמֹנִ֣ים שָׁנָה֩ אָנֹכִ֨י
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said Barzillay to/towards the=king how,many? days_of two_of my_life_of,my that/for/because/then/when go_up DOM the=king Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) )
See how you translated the similar expression in [19:32](../19/32.md). Alternate translation: [I am 80 years old]

Barzillai is using the question form for emphasis. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate these questions as statements or as exclamations. Alternate translation: [I no longer know between good to bad. And your servant does not taste what I eat or what I drink. And I no longer hear the voice of the male singers or the female singers. So your servant should not become a further burden to my lord the king.]

In this verse, the word voice is singular in form, but it refers to all the singers as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use the plural form of “voice.” Alternate translation: [the voices]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְלָמָּה֩ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה עַבְדְּךָ֥ עוֹד֙ לְמַשָּׂ֔א אֶל־אֲדֹנִ֖י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ

Barzillai is speaking as if he would actually become a burden or weight that David needed to carry on his back. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [So why should your servant cause my lord the king to have additional responsibilities for his care?]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
