TSNTyndale Study Notes:

20:1-19 About that time: This general time reference indicates that the order of events is thematic rather than chronological. The episode concerning Merodach-baladan (20:12-19), whom Sennacherib had driven from Babylon before 701 BC, happened earlier than the events of chs 18–19 but after Hezekiah’s illness (20:12).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

(Occurrence 0) They have seen everything in my house. There is nothing among my valuable things that I have not shown them

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said what seen in/on/at/with,palace,your and=he/it_said Ḩizqiyyāh DOM all/each/any/every which/who in/on/at/with,palace,my seen not it_became anything which/who not show,them in/on/at/with,treasuries,my )

Hezekiah repeats the same idea in two ways to emphasize his point. (See also: figs-parallelism)

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / doublenegatives

(Occurrence 0) There is nothing among my valuable things that I have not shown them

“Nothing” and “not” cancel each other out to make the idea positive. This exaggeration is used for emphasis. Alternate translation: “I showed them absolutely every one of my valuable things”
