3.24 Justificati gratis. Non per legem, non per propriam voluntatem, sed per gratiam Christi, non tamen quod sine nostra voluntate fiat. Here Paul speaks of grace as if it were a person who could justify someone. Paul means that God graciously makes people righteous as a gift.
