Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
לְבֶן־חַ֔יִל
(into)_a,son_of worthy
In certain contexts, biblical authors and characters use the common expression of their culture son of to indicate that a person has the characteristic of something. In this case, Solomon means that Adonijah would have to prove that he was a person of trustworthy character by taking no further actions to try to become king. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [a man of trustworthy character]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
לֹֽא־יִפֹּ֥ל מִשַּׂעֲרָת֖וֹ אָ֑רְצָה
not (Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said Shəlomoh/(Solomon) if will_belong (into)_a,son_of worthy not fall one,of,his_hair[s] ground,to_[the] and=if evil found in=him/it and,he_will_die )
The author is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [nothing from his hair shall fall to the ground] or [not a single one of his hairs shall fall to the ground]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche
לֹֽא־יִפֹּ֥ל מִשַּׂעֲרָת֖וֹ אָ֑רְצָה
not (Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said Shəlomoh/(Solomon) if will_belong (into)_a,son_of worthy not fall one,of,his_hair[s] ground,to_[the] and=if evil found in=him/it and,he_will_die )
Solomon is using one small part of Adonijah, a single strand from his hair, to emphasize that he will not harm him at all. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [I will not harm him in the slightest way]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וְאִם־רָעָ֥ה תִמָּצֵא־ב֖וֹ
and=if evil (Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said Shəlomoh/(Solomon) if will_belong (into)_a,son_of worthy not fall one,of,his_hair[s] ground,to_[the] and=if evil found in=him/it and,he_will_die )
The expression is found is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [But if I find evil in him]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְאִם־רָעָ֥ה תִמָּצֵא־ב֖וֹ
and=if evil (Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said Shəlomoh/(Solomon) if will_belong (into)_a,son_of worthy not fall one,of,his_hair[s] ground,to_[the] and=if evil found in=him/it and,he_will_die )
Here Solomon is speaking as if evil were an object that could be found inside of Adonijah. He is describing the possibility of discovering that Adonijah has been acting with evil intentions. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [But if I find evidence that his intentions are evil]

OET (OET-RV) “If he shows himself as a loyal subject,” Shelomoh responded, “then he’ll be able to keep his head. But if he’s found to be a traitor, then he’ll die.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
