Here the Israelites speak as if their lives were dry. They could mean that: (1) they have lost their strength because they do not have enough to eat. Alternate translation: [And now we have lost our strength] (2) they have lost their appetite for food because they do not like eating only manna. Alternate translation: [And now we have lost our appetite]

In this verse, the word life is singular in form, but it refers to all the lives of the Israelites as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use the plural form of “life.” Alternate translation: [our lives are dry]
