OET (OET-LV)And_if thus you are_doing to/for_me kill_me please immediately_(kill) if I_have_found favour in_eyes_of_your and_not let_me_look on_distress_of_my.

OET (OET-RV)If that’s what you’re doing to me, please kill me now if I’ve found favour in your eyes. Then I wouldn’t have to suffer like this.”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-condition-hypothetical

וְאִם־כָּ֣כָה ׀ אַתְּ־עֹ֣שֶׂה לִּ֗י הָרְגֵ֤נִי נָא֙ הָרֹ֔ג אִם־מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

and=if this_is_how you producing to/for=me kill,me now to_kill if found graciousness/kindness/favour/beauty in,eyes_of,your

Moses is describing a possible condition in which God will kill him only if two conditions are both true: God is going to continue treating him in this way, and Moses has found favor in God’s eyes. Express this possible condition in a way that would be natural in your language. Alternate translation: [Suppose that you are doing thus to me, and suppose that I have found favor in your eyes. In that case, killing, please kill me]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication

הָרְגֵ֤נִי נָא֙ הָרֹ֔ג

kill,me now to_kill

Moses is repeating forms of the verb kill in order to intensify his expression of the idea that it conveys. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the intensification. Alternate translation: [please kill me immediately]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

אִם־מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

if found graciousness/kindness/favour/beauty in,eyes_of,your

Moses is using the common expression of his culture found favor in your eyes to mean “you approve of me” or “you show me favor.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. See how you translated the negative form of this clause in [11:11](../11/11.md). Alternate translation: [if you approve of me] or [if you show me favor]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

אִם־מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

if found graciousness/kindness/favour/beauty in,eyes_of,your

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of favor, you could express the same idea in another way. See how you translated the negative form of this clause in [11:11](../11/11.md). Alternate translation: [if I am favored in your eyes]

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

וְאַל־אֶרְאֶ֖ה בְּרָעָתִֽי

and,not see on,distress_of,my

Here, Moses is speaking of his suffering as if it were his own evil that he needed to look at. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [I do not want to experience my evil]

Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / possession

בְּרָעָתִֽי

on,distress_of,my

Moses is using the possessive form to describe evil that is happening to him. If a speaker of your language would not use the possessive form for this, you could express this idea in another way. Alternate translation: [on the evil that is happening to me]

Note 7 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

בְּרָעָתִֽי

on,distress_of,my

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of evil, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [on the evil things that are happening to me]
