OET (OET-RV) All these people come to me to ask me to give them meat to eat. Where would I get enough meat to feed all them?

מֵאַ֤יִן לִי֙ בָּשָׂ֔ר לָתֵ֖ת לְכָל־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּֽי־יִבְכּ֤וּ עָלַי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר תְּנָה־לָּ֥נוּ בָשָׂ֖ר וְנֹאכֵֽלָה

If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [These people weep upon me, saying, ‘Give to us flesh and let us eat.’ But from where is meat for me to give to all this people?]

מֵאַ֤יִן לִי֙ בָּשָׂ֔ר לָתֵ֖ת לְכָל־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה
from,where? to=me flesh/meat to,give_[it] to/from=all/each/any/every the,people the=this
Moses is using the question form to emphasize that it would be impossible for him to get enough meat to feed all the Israelite people. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [There is no place for me to acquire meat to give to all this people.]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
עָלַי֙
to,me
The phrase upon me is a common expression of this culture that means “near me” or “to me.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [near me] or [to me]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes
לֵאמֹ֔ר תְּנָה־לָּ֥נוּ בָשָׂ֖ר וְנֹאכֵֽלָה
to=say give, to/for=ourselves flesh/meat so,that_we_may_eat
If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. Alternate translation: [demanding that I give them flesh so that they can eat it]
Note 5 topic: writing-quotations
לֵאמֹ֔ר
to=say
Here, the word saying introduces a direct quotation. See how you translated saying in [1:1](../01/01.md).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
