OET (OET-LV) And_it_was if it_will_rise the_anger_of the_king and_saying(ms) to/for_yourself(m) why did_you(pl)_draw_near to the_city to_fight am_not did_you(pl)_know DOM how they_will_shoot from_under the_wall.
OET (OET-RV) if he gets angry and asks, ‘Why did you all go so close in to the city to fight? Didn’t you know that they’d shoot down from the wall?

תַּעֲלֶה֙ חֲמַ֣ת הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ
(Some words not found in UHB: and=it_was if rises anger_of the=king and=saying(ms) to/for=yourself(m) why go_~_near to/towards the=city to,fight am=not know DOM which/who shoot from=under the,wall )
See how you translated the similar expression in [6:7](../06/07.md). Alternate translation: [the king becomes angry]

וְאָמַ֣ר לְךָ֔ מַדּ֛וּעַ נִגַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם אֶל־הָעִ֖יר לְהִלָּחֵ֑ם הֲל֣וֹא יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־יֹר֖וּ מֵעַ֥ל הַחוֹמָֽה

If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. Alternate translation: [he may ask you why we drew near to the city to fight. He may say that we should have known that they would shoot from the wall.]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
מַדּ֛וּעַ נִגַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם אֶל־הָעִ֖יר לְהִלָּחֵ֑ם הֲל֣וֹא יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־יֹר֖וּ מֵעַ֥ל הַחוֹמָֽה
why (Some words not found in UHB: and=it_was if rises anger_of the=king and=saying(ms) to/for=yourself(m) why go_~_near to/towards the=city to,fight am=not know DOM which/who shoot from=under the,wall )
Joab anticipates that David may use the question form to rebuke the army for fighting so close to the city wall. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate these questions as statements or as exclamations. Alternate translation: [You should not have drawn near to the city to fight! You should have known that they would shoot from the wall!]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / yousingular
נִגַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם & הֲל֣וֹא יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם
(Some words not found in UHB: and=it_was if rises anger_of the=king and=saying(ms) to/for=yourself(m) why go_~_near to/towards the=city to,fight am=not know DOM which/who shoot from=under the,wall )
The word you is plural here because David would be addressing all of the Israelite soldiers. So use the plural form in your translation if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: [did you soldiers draw near … Did you soldiers not know]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
