3.21 Non exibitis, etc. AUG., ibid. Quod mandavit Dominus Hebræis ut acciperent ab Ægyptiis vasa argentea et aurea, et vestem, atque addidit, et prædabimini eos, mandati hujus non potest esse injustum judicium. Mandatum enim Dei est, de quo non judicandum, sed obtemperandum fuit. Ipse enim novit quam juste mandaverit, ad servum pertinet obedienter facere quod mandavit.
3.21 Non exibitis, etc. AUG., ibid. That mandavit Master Hebræis as acciperent away Ægyptiis vasa argentea and aurea, and vestem, atque addidit, and prædabimini them, mandati huyus not/no potest esse injustum yudicium. Mandatum because of_God it_is, about quo not/no yudicandum, but obtemperandum fuit. Exactly_that because novit how juste mandaverit, to servum belongs obedienter facere that mandavit.
3:13-22 Moses’ second protest was that he had inadequate knowledge. He did not know God’s name. This might mean that God’s personal name had not yet been revealed (see study notes on 6:2-3). It is also possible that Moses meant he did not know the secret, magic formula that a man of power might have been expected to make use of. Interest in such things was common in the ancient Near East. God’s direct response is almost a riddle, but the majority of his answer is a statement of his faithfulness in the past and a demonstration of his knowledge of the future. There is nothing magical about the name Yahweh. Knowledge of secret formulas and magic powers is not the issue; the issue is the character of God and his lordship of history. The reason there is “something about that name” is because of the incomparable character and nature of the one who bears it.

In the eyes of the Egyptians is an idiom for the Egyptian’s feelings. Favor means those feelings are positive. Taken together, this means that when the Egyptians see the Israelites (Hebrews) leaving Egypt, they will gladly help them (because they want them to leave so badly due to the Egyptians suffering under God’s judgment). If your language has the same or a similar idiom, you can translate or use it. Otherwise, you can translate the meaning.

The double negative, not … emptily is used to mean “full.” If this double negative would be misunderstood in your language, you could translate it as a positive statement. Alternate translation: “[go] with many things”

Here Yahweh uses a figure of speech that expresses a strong positive meaning by using a negative word together with a word that is the opposite of the intended meaning.
