Mortuus et vivus apparent, ut significent Christum moriturum et post victurum, et ut vivamus Christo, et moriamur mundo. Etiam apostolis dat signum de cœlo, ut fides eorum augeatur. Sed scribis tentantibus dare noluit, ut indurarentur. Erant autem Moyses, et Elias visi. Per Moysen, infernales; per Eliam, cœlestes; per apostolos, terrestres ad judicium venturi significantur.
9.30 Behold two viri. 9:28-36 At the transfiguration, Jesus’ true glory was unveiled for three disciples to witness, confirming Peter’s confession that Jesus was the Christ. Moses and Elijah confirmed that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah.
