OET (OET-LV) YHWH god_of_your(pl) he_has_increased DOM_you(pl) and_see_you(pl) the_day as_as_stars_of the_heavens to_increase_in_number.
OET (OET-RV) because your god Yahweh has multiplied you, and wow, now you’re as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / possession
יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם
YHWH God_of,your(pl)
Moses is using this possessive form to emphasize that Yahweh is the God that the Israelites worship, including himself. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [Yahweh, the God whom we worship]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole
כְּכוֹכְבֵ֥י הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם לָרֹֽב
as_~_as,stars_of the=heavens to=increase_in_number
Moses says as the stars of the heavens in number here as a generalization for emphasis. He means that God has greatly increased the number of Israelites. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a different way to express the emphasis. Alternate translation: [almost as numerous as the stars of the heavens]
1:10 as numerous as the stars: This figure of speech deliberately exaggerates for effect. Abraham’s descendants had not approached the actual number of stars in the universe, though they exceeded the number of stars visible to the naked eye. Moses meant that God had begun fulfilling his promises to Abraham (see Gen 15:5; 22:17) by making Israel numerous, bringing them to the Promised Land, and preparing them to conquer it.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
