OET (OET-LV) [fn] not you_will_abhor an_ʼEdōmite if/because your(ms)_brother/kindred he not you_will_abhor an_from_Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim) if/because a_sojourner you_were in_land_of_his.
23:8 Note: KJB: Deut.23.7
OET (OET-RV) The third generation (grandchildren) of any of Edomites or Egyptians that live among you, may enter Yahweh’s assembly.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations
בָּנִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־יִוָּלְד֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם
(Some words not found in UHB: not abhor ʼEdōmite that/for/because/then/when your(ms)=brother/kindred he/it not abhor from_Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim/(Egypt)) that/for/because/then/when alien were in,land_of,his )
Here the masculine term sons has a generic sense that includes both men and women. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could use language in your translation that is clearly inclusive of both men and women. Alternate translation: [descendants that are born to them] or [children that are born to them]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
בָּנִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־יִוָּלְד֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם
(Some words not found in UHB: not abhor ʼEdōmite that/for/because/then/when your(ms)=brother/kindred he/it not abhor from_Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim/(Egypt)) that/for/because/then/when alien were in,land_of,his )
The expression are born is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [The sons who become part of their families] or [The sons who come from their families]
Note 3 topic: translate-ordinal
דּ֣וֹר שְׁלִישִׁ֑י
(Some words not found in UHB: not abhor ʼEdōmite that/for/because/then/when your(ms)=brother/kindred he/it not abhor from_Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim/(Egypt)) that/for/because/then/when alien were in,land_of,his )
If your language would not represent a number in a form such as the third generation, you could represent this number in a form that your language would use. Alternate translation: [after three generations]

OET (OET-RV) The third generation (grandchildren) of any of Edomites or Egyptians that live among you, may enter Yahweh’s assembly.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
