Here Moses is speaking of Yahweh walking in the midst of your camp as if God were physically moving around in the Israelite camp. This image represents God’s active presence with his people and his close involvement in their affairs. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Yahweh your God is present among you in your camp] or [Yahweh your God is actively watching over you in your camp]

Moses is using the phrase and turn away from you to introduce an outcome that he does not want to happen. Because of this, he first gives the Israelites an instruction to keep their camp holy so that this will not happen. Use a connector in your language that makes it clear that avoiding this outcome is the purpose of the instruction. Alternate translation: [or else he will turn away from you] or [lest he turn away from you]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
