OET (OET-LV) [fn] not you_will_seek peace_of_their and_good_of_their all_of days_of_your forever_perpetuity.
23:7 Note: KJB: Deut.23.6
OET (OET-RV) In contrast, don’t despise the Edomites because they’re your cousins (descendants of your ancestor Yitshak). And don’t despise the Egyptians, because you lived there as foreigners.

לֹֽא־תְתַעֵ֣ב אֲדֹמִ֔י כִּ֥י אָחִ֖יךָ ה֑וּא
(Some words not found in UHB: not seek peace_of,their and,good_of,their all/each/any/every days_of,your forever,perpetuity )
The word translated as for indicates that what follows is a reason for what came before. Use a connector in your language that makes it clear that what follows is a reason for what came before. Alternate translation: [You shall not detest an Edomite because he is your brother]

כִּ֥י אָחִ֖יךָ ה֑וּא
(Some words not found in UHB: not seek peace_of,their and,good_of,their all/each/any/every days_of,your forever,perpetuity )
Here Moses is speaking of an Edomite as if he were actually a brother to an Israelite. He means that the Edomites were descendants of Esau, who was the brother of Jacob, the ancestor of the Israelites. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [for he comes from our relative Esau]

not (Some words not found in UHB: not seek peace_of,their and,good_of,their all/each/any/every days_of,your forever, perpetuity )
The word because introduces the reason for the command not to detest Egyptians. If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt, do not detest the Egyptians]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
