OET (OET-LV) YHWH He_will_raise_up on_you a_nation from_a_distance from_the_end_of the_earth/land just_as it_swoops_down (the)_eagle a_nation which not you_will_understand language_of_its.
OET (OET-RV) Yahweh will send a very distant nation against you. They’ll swoop in like an eagle—speaking a language that you won’t understand.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
יִשָּׂ֣א יְהוָה֩ עָלֶ֨יךָ גּ֤וֹי
(Some words not found in UHB: bring YHWH on,you nation from,a_distance from,the_end_of the=earth/land just=as swoop_down (the),eagle nation which/who not understand language_of,its )
Here Moses is using speaking as if Yahweh were going to lift up a nation physically into a higher place than Israel. He means that Yahweh will bring them to a position of power over Israel. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Yahweh will bring a nation against you] or [Yahweh will raise up a nation against you]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole
מֵרָחוֹק֙ מִקְצֵ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ
from,a_distance from,the_end_of the=earth/land
Moses says from the ends of the earth as an extreme statement for emphasis. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a different way to express the emphasis. Alternate translation: [from a very distant land]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / simile
כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יִדְאֶ֖ה הַנָּ֑שֶׁר
(Some words not found in UHB: bring YHWH on,you nation from,a_distance from,the_end_of the=earth/land just=as swoop_down (the),eagle nation which/who not understand language_of,its )
The point of this comparison is that just as an eagle flies swiftly and attacks suddenly, so this nation will attack swiftly and suddenly. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [attacking swiftly like an eagle swooping down on its prey]
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
