uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-contrast

καὶ

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί εἶπαν αὐτῷ Κύριε ἔχει Δέκα μνᾶς)

The word And introduces a contrast between what the king wanted and what the attendants thought they should do. Alternate translation: [But]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes

εἶπαν αὐτῷ, Κύριε, ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς

˱they˲_said ˱to˲_him Master ˱he˲_˓is˒_having (Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί εἶπαν αὐτῷ Κύριε ἔχει Δέκα μνᾶς)

If it would be helpful in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. Alternate translation: [the attendants objected to the king that that servant already had ten minas]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / exclamations

ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς

˱he˲_˓is˒_having (Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί εἶπαν αὐτῷ Κύριε ἔχει Δέκα μνᾶς)

You could translate this as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [he already has ten minas!]

Note 4 topic: translate-bweight

μνᾶς

minas_‹already›

See how you translated the term mina in [19:13](../19/13.md).

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

19:11-27 This parable has two main purposes: (1) to teach stewardship, the need to manage gifts and resources well while the king (Jesus) is away (cp. Matt 25:14-30); and (2) to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away upon Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. Most Jews of Jesus’ day expected that when the Messiah came, God’s Kingdom would be established physically on earth, with Jerusalem at its center (see Isa 2:2-4; 35:1-10; 65:17-25; Jer 30–31; Ezek 37, 40-48; Mic 4:1-5).
