Here the Jewish leaders mock Jesus by speaking about him as if he were the King of Israel when they do not believe that he actually is. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a form that indicates that this is irony. Alternate translation: “He is the so-called King of Israel” or “He thinks he is the King of Israel”
