Since Hushai did not actually say the words like this and like this, if it would be more natural in your language, you could express this as an indirect quotation. Alternate translation: [Then Hushai told Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, what Ahithophel had counseled Absalom and the elders of Israel and what he himself had counseled instead]

The author is using the phrase Like this and like this as a common expression of his culture to indicate that Hushai summarized what he and Ahithophel had said.
