OET (OET-RV) What other nation is like your people, Yisrael—one nation on the earth that you went to redeem for yourself as a people—rescuing you from Egypt and its gods? You made a reputation for yourself and did amazing and scary things for your nation in front of your people
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
וּמִ֤י כְעַמְּךָ֙ & וֵאלֹהָֽיו

David is using the question form for emphasis. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [And there is no other nation like your people … and its gods!]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / doublet
כְעַמְּךָ֙ כְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

The terms like your people and like Israel mean similar things. David is using the two terms together for emphasis. If it would be clearer for your readers, you could express the emphasis with a single phrase. Alternate translation: [is like your people Israel]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
הָלְכֽוּ
went
See how you translated the similar expression in [7:3](../07/03.md). Alternate translation: [took action]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

See how you translated the similar expression in [7:9](../07/09.md). Alternate translation: [a reputation]

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of greatness, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [great things]
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / yousingular
לָכֶ֜ם
to/for=you(pl)
The word you is plural here because it refers to the Israelites, so use the plural form in your translation if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: [for you, O Israel] or [for them]
Note 7 topic: figures-of-speech / aside
לָכֶ֜ם
to/for=you(pl)
David has been addressing Yahweh in his prayer, but now he briefly addresses the nation of Israel (as you), even though he knows that the people of this nation cannot hear him. (David has gone to the sacred tent to speak with Yahweh alone, as [verse 18](../07/18.md) indicates.) He does this in order to express more powerfully his feelings about the greatness (great things) that Yahweh has done for Israel. You may be able to use punctuation or some other convention of your language to show that the addressee changes briefly here. You might also use a first-person plural pronoun to show that by you (plural), David is referring to the people group to which he belongs, not to Yahweh, to whom the singular forms of “you” refer in the rest of the verse. Alternate translation: [for us]
Note 8 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וְנֹֽרָאוֹת֙
and,awesome_[deeds]
The expression being feared is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [and fearsome things]
Note 9 topic: figures-of-speech / yousingular
לְאַרְצֶ֔ךָ
for,land_of,your
The word your is singular here because it refers to Yahweh. So use the singular form in your translation if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: [for your land, O Yahweh]
Note 10 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
מִפְּנֵ֣י
(Some words not found in UHB: and,who? [is]_like,people_of,your like,Israel nation one(ms) on_the=earth which/who went ʼElohīm to,redeem to=him/it to,a_people and,to,make to=him/it name_of and,to,do to/for=you(pl) (the),greatness and,awesome_[deeds] for,land_of,your from=face/in_front_of people_of,your which/who redeemed for,yourself from=Miʦrayim/(Egypt) nations and,gods_of,its )
Here, from the face of means “in front of,” with the implication that Yahweh did these fearsome things to defeat the enemies who were confronting the Israelites and opposing them. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [in front of] or [against the nations that opposed]
Note 11 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
גּוֹיִ֖ם וֵאלֹהָֽיו
nations and,gods_of,its
David is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [and from other enemy nations and the gods of each one]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
