TSNTyndale Study Notes:

33:12-23 Moses begged for God to go with him and the people to the Promised Land. In these verses the word personally (33:14-15) usually reflects a Hebrew term literally rendered face. Moses wanted to continue experiencing the “face to face” relationship he had begun to have (33:11). He also wanted the people to have that experience in some sense.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-quotations

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

and=he/it_said

In some languages it may be better to omit And he said at the start of this verse to avoid stopping and restarting the quotation. Yahweh is speaking from 33:19–34:3.

כִּ֛י לֹֽא־יִרְאַ֥נִי הָאָדָ֖ם וָחָֽי

that/for/because/then/when not see,me the=humankind and,live

Alternate translation: [because no person can live after he has seen me]
