TSNTyndale Study Notes:

22:3-4 By the eighteenth year of his reign (621 BC), Josiah had been devoted to the Lord for ten years (see 2 Chr 34:3-7).
• Hilkiah the high priest was from the line of Zadok (1 Chr 9:10-11). Some scholars suggest that this Hilkiah was Jeremiah’s father (Jer 1:1).
• Apparently the money was collected in a large chest convenient to the people as they came to the Temple (cp. 12:9).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

(Some words not found in UHB: leaf_of to/towards Ḩilqiyyāh the=priest/officer the,high and,count DOM the,money the,brought_into house_of YHWH which/who collected keepers_of the,threshold from, the,people )

The phrase “Go up” is used because Yahweh’s temple was higher in elevation than where King Josiah was located. Alternate translation: “Go to Hilkiah”

Note 1 topic: translate-names

(Occurrence 0) Hilkiah

(Some words not found in UHB: leaf_of to/towards Ḩilqiyyāh the=priest/officer the,high and,count DOM the,money the,brought_into house_of YHWH which/who collected keepers_of the,threshold from, the,people )

(Some words not found in UHB: leaf_of to/towards Ḩilqiyyāh the=priest/officer the,high and,count DOM the,money the,brought_into house_of YHWH which/who collected keepers_of the,threshold from, the,people )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “that the temple guards who gathered the money from the people brought into the temple of Yahweh”

(Occurrence 0) house of Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: leaf_of to/towards Ḩilqiyyāh the=priest/officer the,high and,count DOM the,money the,brought_into house_of YHWH which/who collected keepers_of the,threshold from, the,people )

This is another name for the “temple” (verse 3).
