BrTrAnd Moses offered up the whole ram on the altar: it is a whole-burnt-offering for a sweet-smelling savour; it is a burnt-offering to the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

ULTAnd he cut the ram into its pieces, and Moses caused the head and the pieces and the suet to become smoke.

USTAfter Aaron and his sons cut the ram into its appropriate portions, Moses burned the head, the portions of meat, and all the suet of the bull on the altar in a way that caused smoke to go up. But the internal organs and the legs of the bull Aaron and his sons thoroughly washed before Moses also burned these on the altar in the same manner. In doing so, Moses fulfilled the requirements for offering a wholly burned sacrifice. Yahweh enjoyed the smell of the smoke, and he considered the sacrifice to be a gift, exactly as he had told Moses to do.

BSBHe cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

8:1-36 In Exod 28–29, the Lord gave Moses specific instructions for clothing and for ordaining Aaron and his sons as priests. In Exod 39:1-31; 40:12-16; and Lev 8, the commands were carried out. Moses didn’t just pass along the instructions verbally; he enacted the rituals to provide an example for the priests down to the last detail, just as the Lord had commanded him (8:9, 13, 17, 21, 29). Because the penalty for disobedience was death, God made sure the priests knew exactly what to do.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-poetry

וְאֶת־הָאַ֔יִל נִתַּ֖ח לִנְתָחָ֑יו

and=DOM the,ram cut into,pieces,its

For emphasis, a verb and its object from the same root are being used. The verb cut is related to the noun pieces. You may be able to use the same construction in your language to express the meaning here. Alternatively, your language may have another way of showing the emphasis. Alternate translation: “And he carefully and thoroughly butchered the ram into its various pieces”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

וְאֶת־הַנְּתָחִ֖ים

and=DOM and=DOM the,pieces

The expression the pieces implies all the portions of the animal's body, all but the skin, that would be included in the burnt offering, according to the laws recorded in Leviticus 1:8 and Leviticus 7:8. You could include this information if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: “and, except for the skin that was given to the priest, all of the body parts”

Note 3 topic: translate-unknown

וְאֶת־הַפָּֽדֶר׃

and=DOM and=DOM and=DOM (Some words not found in UHB: and=DOM the,ram cut into,pieces,its and,burned Mosheh DOM the,head and=DOM the,pieces and=DOM the,suet )

See how you translated this fat portion in 1:8.
