Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

21:22 Jesus was exhorting the disciples to trust in God and to pray accordingly. He was not offering God’s unconditional endorsement of all that they might desire (1 Jn 5:14-15).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicitinfo

πάντα ὅσα ἂν αἰτήσητε

all_‹things› as_many_as ¬wishfully ˱you_all˲_/may/_request

The expression everything, as much as you request contains extra information that would be unnatural to express in some languages. If this is true of your language, you could shorten the expression. Alternate translation: “everything that you request”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ

in ¬the prayer

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of prayer, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “as you pray”
