OET (OET-LV)He_reported and to_us how he_saw the messenger in the house of_him, having_been_stood and having_said:
Send_out to Yoppaʸ, and send_for Simōn, the one being_called Petros,

OET (OET-RV)He told us how he’d seen one of God’s messengers standing there in his house and who’d told him, ‘Send someone to Yoppa to fetch Simon, the one called Peter,

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / exclusive

ἡμῖν

˱to˲_us

The term us refers to Peter and the believers who came with him to Caesarea. It does not include his current audience in Jerusalem. So use the exclusive form of “us” if your language marks that distinction.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

Σίμωνα, τὸν ἐπικαλούμενον Πέτρον

Simon the_‹one› ˓being˒_called Peter

If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. See how you translated the same phrase in [10:32](../10/32.md). Alternate translation: [whom people call Peter]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

11:1-18 Jews traditionally kept themselves separate and did not eat or associate socially with Gentiles (10:28; 22:21-22; see John 4:9, 27; 18:28; Gal 2:12-14). Therefore, when the Jewish believers in Jerusalem learned that Gentiles had received the word of God, they criticized Peter’s unconventional actions and wanted an explanation, which Peter provided.
