uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns

לֹ֖א תְִּירָא֑וּם

not (Some words not found in UHB: not fear,them that/for/because/then/when YHWH God_of,your(pl) he/it the,fights for,you(pl) )

The pronoun them refers to the people who live in the land that the Israelites are about to occupy. If this is not clear for your readers, you could use the names of the people groups here. Alternate translation: [Do not fear the people who live in the land]

Note 2 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

כִּ֚י

that/for/because/then/when

The word translated as for indicates that what follows is a reason for what came before. Use a connector in your language that makes it clear that what follows is a reason for what came before. Alternate translation: [since]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / rpronouns

ה֖וּא הַנִּלְחָ֥ם

he/it the,fights

In the original, Moses adds the pronoun himself, whose meaning is already included in the verb translated as fight. This adds emphasis to what he is saying. If your language uses explicit pronouns for emphasis, you may want to use that construction in your translation. Other languages may have other ways of bringing out this emphasis. The ULT does so by using the intensive pronoun himself. Alternate translation: [it is he who will fight]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

3:21-29 See Num 20:2-13; Ps 106:32-33.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
