Note 1 topic: translate-symaction
וַיָּבֹ֖א וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיֵּ֑שְׁתְּ
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_went and,he_ate and,he_drank and=he/it_said take_care_of now DOM the_cursed,[woman] (the),this and,bury,her that/for/because/then/when daughter_of king she/it )
Entering the royal palace in Jezreel and eating a meal there was a symbolic action by which Jehu claimed that he was now the king of Israel. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could explain the significance of this action in the text or in a footnote. Alternate translation: [And he entered the royal palace and ate and drank there to assert his claim that he was now the king]
Note 2 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result
פִּקְדוּ־נָ֞א אֶת־הָאֲרוּרָ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙ וְקִבְר֔וּהָ כִּ֥י בַת־מֶ֖לֶךְ הִֽיא
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_went and,he_ate and,he_drank and=he/it_said take_care_of now DOM the_cursed,[woman] (the),this and,bury,her that/for/because/then/when daughter_of king she/it )
If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [Since this cursed woman was the daughter of a king, please look after her and bury her]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
אֶת־הָאֲרוּרָ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙
DOM the_cursed,[woman] (Some words not found in UHB: and,he_went and,he_ate and,he_drank and=he/it_said take_care_of now DOM the_cursed,[woman] (the),this and,bury,her that/for/because/then/when daughter_of king she/it )
The expression cursed is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that would be natural in your language. Alternate translation: [this woman whom Yahweh has cursed]
OET (OET-LV) And_he_went and_he_ate and_he_drank and_he/it_said attend_to please DOM the_cursed_woman (the)_this and_bury_her if/because was_a_daughter_of a_king she.
OET (OET-RV) Then Yehu and his men went in and ate and drank, and then he said, “Now, you all better attend to that evil woman and bury her, because she’s a king’s daughter.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
