OET (OET-RV) You discovered that he was sincere and faithful to you, and made an agreement with him—to give the Canaanite, Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Yebusite, and the Girgashite regions to his descendants, and you have ensured that it’s all come to be because you’re righteous.

וְכָר֨וֹת עִמּ֜וֹ הַבְּרִ֗ית
and,made with=him/it the,covenant
To cut a covenant is a Hebrew idiom for making a solemn agreement with a person. The expression comes from the way animals were cut into pieces during covenant ceremonies to show what the parties wanted God to do to anyone who broke the agreement. But the meaning here is idiomatic. It is not a direct reference to such a ceremony, but only to the making of the covenant. Alternate translation: “you made an agreement with him” or “you made a promise to him”
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
לְזַרְע֑וֹ

As in verse 2, seed means “descendants.” Alternate translation: “to his descendants”

Alternate translation: “because you always do what is right”
9:5-37 This long prayer confesses the nation’s sins and praises God for his compassion throughout history (cp. Pss 105–106; 135–136). It prompted listeners to confess their own unfaithfulness and to call on God to be compassionate and forgive their sins.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
