OET (OET-LV)And_he/it_said to_them is_a_witness YHWH in/on/at/with_you_all and_witness anointed_of_his the_day the_this if/because_that not you_all_have_found in/on/at/with_hand_of_my anything and_he/it_said he_is_a_witness.

OET (OET-RV)Yahweh is a your witness,” he said. “And his anointed king is a witness today, that you have never found me taking anything that wasn’t mine.”
¶ We witness that,” they agreed.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / nominaladj

וְעֵ֤ד מְשִׁיחוֹ֙

and,witness anointed_of,his

See how you translated the similar expression in [12:3](../12/03.md). Alternate translation: [and his anointed king]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

בְּיָדִ֖י

in/on/at/with,hand_of,my

Samuel is using the word hand to represent possession. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [in my possession]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

בְּיָדִ֖י

in/on/at/with,hand_of,my

Samuel assumes that his listeners will know that he is referring to things that do not belong to him. He does not mean that he has no possessions of his own. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [in my possession that belongs to someone else]

Note 4 topic: grammar-collectivenouns

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

and=he/it_said

Since the author is referring to a group of people collectively, it might be more natural in your language to use a plural form here. Alternate translation: [And they said]

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

עֵֽד

witness

The Israelites are leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [We agree that Yahweh is a witness and that the king is a witness]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

12:5 my hands are clean: Samuel’s life and leadership before Israel had been above reproach (cp. 1 Cor 9:1-14; 2 Cor 7:2; 11:7-9; 1 Thes 2:1-12). Saul, David, and Solomon—kings rather than prophetic judges—would not be able to make this claim.
