OET (OET-LV) And_ Dāvid _he/it_said to ʼAⱱīshay do_not destroy_him if/because who has_he_stretched_out his/its_hand in/on/at/with_anointed_of YHWH and_guiltless.
OET (OET-RV) “Don’t kill him,” David responded, “because who can attack Yahweh’s anointed king and be considered innocent?”
Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result
אַל־תַּשְׁחִיתֵ֑הוּ כִּ֠י מִ֣י שָׁלַ֥ח יָד֛וֹ בִּמְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה וְנִקָּֽה
not destroy,him that/for/because/then/when who? Shalah his/its=hand in/on/at/with,anointed_of YHWH and,guiltless
If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [Who has stretched out his hand against the anointed one of Yahweh and been innocent? So do not destroy him]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
מִ֣י שָׁלַ֥ח יָד֛וֹ בִּמְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה וְנִקָּֽה
who? Shalah his/its=hand in/on/at/with,anointed_of YHWH and,guiltless
David is using the question form for emphasis. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [no one has stretched out his hand against the anointed one of Yahweh and been innocent!]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
כִּ֠י מִ֣י שָׁלַ֥ח יָד֛וֹ בִּמְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה
that/for/because/then/when who? Shalah his/its=hand in/on/at/with,anointed_of YHWH
David is using a common expression of his culture to mean attacking or harming someone. See how you translated the similar phrase in [24:6](../24/06.md). Alternate translation: [has used violence against the anointed one of Yahweh]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
בִּמְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה
in/on/at/with,anointed_of YHWH
If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. See how you translated this in [24:6](../24/06.md). Alternate translation: [against the one whom Yahweh has anointed]
26:9 the Lord’s anointed: See study note on 24:6.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
