14:26-40 Paul gives specific procedures for the use of spiritual gifts in the church and emphasizes that they are to be expressed in an orderly way. Among the early Christians, church meetings were not led by professional pastors or priests. Instead, everyone shared with the others what God had given them for strengthening the church.
In this section Paul instructed the Corinthian believers about how they should worship God together. First, he compared prophecy and tongues. He stressed the value of prophecy for building up the church. Then he said they should conduct their worship services in an orderly and harmonious way. They were not to speak all at once. People who spoke in tongues should have someone to interpret, and women were to remain silent in the assembly.

In this paragraph Paul wrote about the right use of the gift of prophecy in the worship services of the church.

For: The Greek conjunction that the BSB translates as For introduces the reason for Paul’s statement in 14:32. Here is another way to translate this:

Because of this, he wants us to worship in an orderly and peaceful way. In some languages it may be natural to mention the positive first:

In this paragraph Paul set out some principles for women taking part in worship services. Everything should be done in a way that is fitting and orderly. Individual churches should not invent their own practices but should follow the practices of the church at large.

as in all the churches of the saints: There is an interpretation issue with this phrase. Some English versions put it at the end of verse 33.
This phrase starts a new sentence, and introduces a new idea about the behavior of women. For example:
As in all the churches of the saints (NET) (NET, ESV, NASB, NIV84, RSV, GW, REB, NCV, NJB, NABRE, GNT, CEV)
This phrase finishes the old sentence, and concludes the previous section about order in the church. For example:

It is recommended that you follow interpretation (1). This is the interpretation followed by most English versions and most commentaries.14:33 See, for example, Grosheide, p.341; and Kistemaker, p. 511.
Here Paul introduced a custom that was common to all the churches with which he was acquainted. Here is another way to translate this phrase:
As is the case in all the churches of God’s people
churches: The Greek word that the BSB translates as churches is the same word that is used in 14:4b. It refers to a group of believers.
saints: The Greek phrase that the BSB translates as saints is literally “holy ones.” It refers to Christian believers. They are holy because they belong to God. See how you translated this word in 6:1c.

Here, For introduces the reason why “the spirits of the prophets are subject to prophets” ([14:32](../14/32.md)). Since the prophetic gift comes from God, it should fit with who God is. Since God is not of confusion, but of peace, so the prophetic gift must be of peace as well. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express For with a word or phrase that introduces a reason or basis for a statement. Alternate translation: [you could know this because]

The phrase As in all the churches of the saints could modify: (1) the two verses that follow. Supporting this option is how the first half of this verse sounds like a conclusion and how it does not make much sense to say that God is a specific way in all the churches. See the ULT for this option. (2) the first sentence in this verse. Supporting this option is how “in the churches” is repeated near the beginning of the next verse and how Paul uses a phrase similar to this one at the end of sentences (See: [4:17](../04/17.md); [7:17](../07/17.md)). Alternate translation: [of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.]

Here, in all the churches is a spatial metaphor that speaks of the churches as if they were a place in which people could gather. Paul speaks in this way to indicate the situation which he is discussing: the gatherings of believers who meet to worship God. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express in all the churches by clarifying that the churches refers to gatherings of believers for worship. Alternate translation: [in all the gatherings of believers] or [in all the worship services]
