8.18 Who because habet, etc. This specialiter apostolis, to_whom from charitate nosse mysteria datur, and perfidis Yudæis (qui through parabolas that not/no intelligunt audiunt) dicta videntur. Potest and generaliter accipi, because and ingeniosus, negligendo, sapientia vera se privat and simplex studiosus laborando degustat. Because who amorem verbi habet, dabitur and sensus intelligendi that amat. But who not/no habet amorem audiendi, etiamsi naturali ingenio or labore studioso se intelligere putat, nullam tamen veræ scientiæ dulcedinem gustabit. And quicunque non. The phrase be careful does not mean that listening is dangerous. Rather, it means that people should listen carefully, because, as Jesus has just said, God wants to reveal spiritual secrets. Alternate translation: “so make sure that you listen well” or “so listen carefully and reflect on what you hear”
