In this section Paul said that the things that cause us suffering are only small compared to the glory that God will give us in the future, renewed world. The created world waits for God to reveal us, his adopted children, in our new bodies, because he will also renew the created world at that time. We and the created world groan waiting for that renewal. Paul then described what hope is.
The Holy Spirit helps us where we are weak. He also helps us to pray and intercedes for us. God causes all things to work for our good. He chose us to become like Jesus in word and deed, and become like him like a brother is like his brother. He chose us before the creation of the world, called us, made us righteous, and has glorified us.

in this hope: The word in indicates that the salvation we are waiting for includes the redemption of our bodies. We hope in that redemption and that hope is based on God’s promises that now belong to the new believer. Here are other ways to translate this phrase:

we were saved: This clause is passive. Some languages must use an active clause. For example:
God saved us
saved: This word refers to being rescued from something harmful or dangerous. Here it refers to God rescuing people from going to hell for their sins. See how you translated this word in 5:10.
In some languages putting “in this hope” first would make the hope the basis for being saved, or another possibly wrong meaning. If that is true in your language, put that phrase in its usual place. For example:
For we were saved in/with hope
but hope that is seen is no hope at all.
But hope, once one/someone sees/has the thing hoped for, has ended.
If someone has already received what he was expecting, then he no longer needs to wait for it.
but: The Greek word here often introduces something that contrasts with 8:24a, as does the word but here. The word can also introduce something new. For example:

hope that is seen is no hope at all: This clause indicates that if we already have something we hoped for, then we are no longer hoping for it. In many languages a literal translation would not have the correct meaning. If that is true in your language, translate the correct meaning. For example:

that is seen: Here this word indicates that the hope is fulfilled. Some languages must use a different word to clearly indicate that meaning here. See the above examples.
Who hopes for what he can already see?
If a person has already received something, why should he continue to wait for it?
Nobody waits for what he has already received.
The Greek of 8:24c begins with the Greek word that is usually translated as “for.” Here this word introduces something that supports what Paul said in 8:24b. Some languages can omit this word for the correct connection, as the BSB does.
Who hopes for what he can already see?: This is a rhetorical question. It emphasizes that no one hopes for what he already sees or has. Translate this clause with that meaning. Here are some ways:
As a rhetorical question. For example:

Paul is using a rhetorical question here to emphasize the thrust of what he is saying.
