OET (OET-RV) These are the clothes that they’ll need to make: a small pouch to hang around the neck and an apron, a robe and a tunic of woven work, and a turban and a waistband. They must make those sacred clothes for your brother Aharon and for his sons to serve as my priests.

uW Translation Notes:

וּכְתֹ֥נֶת תַּשְׁבֵּ֖ץ

and,tunic checkered

We do not know what word translated of woven work means, as it only occurs here and in 28:39 as a verb. Alternate translation: “and a checkered tunic” or “an embroidered garment”

Note 1 topic: translate-unknown

מִצְנֶ֣פֶת

turban

This is a head covering made from cloth wrapped around the head several times. You may translate it using a word commonly used for a similar item in your culture.

Note 2 topic: translate-unknown

וְאַבְנֵ֑ט

and,sash

The sash is a piece of cloth that people wear around their waist or across their chest. You may translate it with a word commonly used for a similar item in your culture.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

בִגְדֵי־קֹ֜דֶשׁ

garments holy

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of holiness, you can express the same idea in another way. See how you translated this in 28:2.

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

28:1-43 These glorious and beautiful (28:2) garments for Aaron were to distinguish him as a priest set apart (Hebrew qadash, “consecrated”) for [the Lord’s] service (28:3). The magnificence of these garments is in keeping with the grandeur of the Tabernacle, which functioned as a portable earthly palace for God. There would come a day when Jesus Christ, the true High Priest, would enter the Most Holy Place once for all, and the distinction between priests and people would fade away (Heb 10:11-22). Until that time, human mediators were needed to symbolize the wonderful thing that God was planning to do in the hearts, lives, and behaviors of those with whom he shared his presence.
