OET (OET-LV) And_he/it_said to the_people_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) thus YHWH he_says the_god_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) I I_brought_up DOM Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) out_of_Miʦrayim/(Egypt) and_delivered DOM_you_all from_hand_of Miʦrayim and_from_hand_of all_of the_kingdoms the_oppressing DOM_you_all.
OET (OET-RV) and he told them, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I myself brought Israel out of Egypt. I rescued you from Egyptian control, and from all the kingdoms that oppressed you.’
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל
sons_of Yisrael
See how you translated the similar expression in [2:28](../02/28.md). Alternate translation: [the Israelites]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes
thus he/it_had_said YHWH god_of Yisrael I brought_~_up DOM Yisrael out_of,Egypt and,delivered DOM,you_all from,hand_of from_Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim/(Egypt))s and,from,hand_of all/each/any/every the,kingdoms the,oppressing DOM,you_all
If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. Alternate translation: [Yahweh, the God of Israel, says that he himself brought you Israelites up from Egypt and that he delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all the kingdoms oppressing you]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
אָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וָאַצִּ֤יל אֶתְכֶם֙ מִיַּ֣ד מִצְרַ֔יִם וּמִיַּד֙ כָּל־הַמַּמְלָכ֔וֹת הַלֹּחֲצִ֖ים אֶתְכֶֽם

The author assumes that his readers will understand that Yahweh is giving a reason why the Israelites should have remained loyal to him as their ruler. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [I myself brought up Israel from Egypt. And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all of the kingdoms oppressing you. So you ought to have remained loyal to me as your ruler]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / 123person
יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל
Yisrael
Yahweh is speaking about the Israelites in the third person. If it would be helpful in your language, you could translate this in the first person. Alternate translation: [you Israelites]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / yousingular
אֶתְכֶם֙ & אֶתְכֶֽם
DOM,you_all & DOM,you_all
The word you is plural here because Yahweh is addressing all of the assembled Israelites. So use plural forms in your translation if your language marks that distinction, here and in the next verse.
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
מִיַּ֣ד & וּמִיַּד֙
from,hand_of & and,from,hand_of
The author is using the term hand by association to mean power and control. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [from the power of … and from the power of]
10:18 rescued you . . . from all of the nations: Israel did not need a human king to rescue them; they needed God, but they had rejected him (10:19).
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
