24.10 Sub pedibus. Deus non loco continetur, nec situ corporis membra ponit, sicut est nostri corporis sedere, et jacere, stare, et hujusmodi, quæ tantum corporis sunt. Deus autem spiritus est. Quod ergo se ostendit specie corporali, vel signis corporaliter expressis, non substantia ejus apparet, quæ est quod ipse est, sed assumptio formarum visibilium ejus omni potentiæ subjacet.


24.10 Under feet. God not/no instead is_contained, but_not situation corporis members puts, like it_is our corporis sedere, and yacere, to_stand, and huyusmodi, which only corporis are. God however spiritus it_is. That therefore se ostendit specie corporali, or signis corporaliter expressis, not/no substantia his apparet, which it_is that exactly_that/himself it_is, but assumptio formarum visibilium his all potentiæ subyacet.

24:10 There they saw . . . God: This statement must be interpreted in the light of 33:20. They saw some representation of God, the description of which is limited to the surface under his feet. When Isaiah saw God, the only description given was of the hem of his robe (Isa 6:1).
