(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said king Yisrael to/towards ʼElīshāˊ just,as,he_saw ,them will,I_strike_[them]_down? kill my_father_of,my )
To translate the word “strike” here and in the next verse, how you translated it in [3:23](../03/23.md). Alternate translation: [Shall I kill them? Shall I kill them, my father?]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication
הַאַכֶּ֥ה אַכֶּ֖ה
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said king Yisrael to/towards ʼElīshāˊ just,as,he_saw ,them will,I_strike_[them]_down? kill my_father_of,my )
The king is repeating his question Shall I strike them in order to intensify his request for permission and to show his eagerness to act. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the intensification. Alternate translation: [Shall I kill them while I have the chance?]
Note 3 topic: writing-politeness
אָבִֽי
my_father_of,my
The king is referring to Elisha by a respectful title. Use a comparable title or expression for addressing someone respectfully in your language.

OET (OET-RV) When he saw them, the king of Yisrael asked Elisha, “Should I kill them? Should I kill them, my father?”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
