The author is stating the pronoun he separately, even though the verb translated as he said already includes this meaning. He is doing that to emphasize that this action took place at the same time when the messenger was on his way to Elisha’s house but had not yet arrived. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for the same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing the meaning here. Alternate translation: [Elisha, already knowing that he was coming, said]

In this context, the term See has the same significance that the term “behold” does in many contexts, such as the next verse. Elisha is using it to call attention to what he is about to say. See how you translated the term “behold” in [1:9](../01/09.md).

Elisha is using the question form to tell the elders emphatically that the king is coming right behind the officer he has sent. If a speaker of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [The sound of the feet of his master is right behind him.]
