OET (OET-LV)And he was_asking them:
But whom you_all are_saying me to_be?
And the Petros answering is_saying to_him:
You are the chosen_one/messiah.

OET (OET-RV)Then he asked, “And what do you all think?
¶ Peter said, “You are the promised one sent by God.”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / yousingular

ὑμεῖς & σὺ

you_all & (Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί αὐτός ἐπηρώτα αὐτούς ὑμεῖς Δέ τίνα μέ λέγετε εἶναι ἀποκριθείς Δέ ὁ Πέτρος λέγει αὐτῷ Σύ εἶ ὁ Χριστός)

Because Jesus is speaking to the disciples, the word you in the phrase who do you say is plural. Because Peter is speaking to Jesus, the word You in the clause You are the Christ is singular.

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

8:27-38 Peter’s declaration of Jesus as Messiah and Jesus’ first prediction of his death mark a turning point in Mark’s Gospel and a new stage in Jesus’ life. The question, “Who is this man?” raised by the disciples in 4:41, is now answered by Peter.
