OET (OET-LV)And having_sent_away them, having_boarded again he_went_away to the side across.

OET (OET-RV) So Yeshua left in the boat again and crossed to the other side of the lake.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche

ἀπῆλθεν

˱he˲_went_away

Mark is referring to Jesus to represent both Jesus and his disciples, who traveled with Jesus. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “he, along with his disciples, went away”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / go

ἀπῆλθεν

˱he˲_went_away

In a context such as this, your language might say “came” instead of went. Alternate translation: “he came away”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

εἰς τὸ πέραν

to the_‹side› across

Here Mark implies that Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make that idea more explicit. Alternate translation: “to the other side of the lake” or “to the opposite side of the Sea of Galilee”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

8:10-13 As in the earlier feeding miracle (6:30-44), the feeding of the 4,000 is followed by Jesus’ crossing the Sea of Galilee by boat (cp. 6:45) and the Pharisees’ initiating a dispute demanding that Jesus perform some miraculous sign (cp. 7:1-23).
• The location of Dalmanutha is unknown. Matthew 15:39 has Magadan instead of Dalmanutha.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Greek words that they’re translated from.
