Here and in the next verse, the woman describes herself as a female servant, using a different term than the one she had been using, which the ULT translates as “maidservant.” This term refers to a higher-ranking member of the household whose master might feel some sense of obligation toward her. If your language and culture have different terms for female servants of different rank, use the term for a female servant of higher rank here and in the next verse.
