Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

כָּבֵ֖ד לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה

hardened heart Farˊoh's

Now Yahweh speaks of Pharaoh’s stubborn attitude as if Pharaoh’s heart were heavy. If the heart is not the body part your culture uses to refer to a person’s will, consider using whichever organ your culture would use for this image. This is a neutral statement (it does not say that anyone caused him to be stubborn as many others in this part of the narrative do). See how you translated this in Exodus 7:13, but note the slightly different metaphor there: the heart being strong vs heavy here. Alternate translation: “Pharaoh is defiant”
